Susan Garrison Interiors was established in 1996, and has provided residential design services to many clients over the years. As its principal and owner, it has been my privilege to offer a full spectrum of services ranging from simple consultations to full scope design services. This website affords the opportunity of presenting a few examples of my work. The portfolio features private residences, as well as rooms from several Jacksonville Symphony Showhouses designed with my friend and fellow designer, Jane Roseborough.
One of my favorite design philosophies is expressed in the words of designer Charlotte Moss: “What we remember most about rooms we like is the ‘atmosphere’.” Whether the rooms are in a restaurant, theater, hotel or residence, what we take with us, the impression that stays with us, is what we will recall about the experience of being in that space. And this is no less true of our homes. It applies to the spaces we invite others to experience and those we choose to enjoy privately.
Wonderfully designed rooms are not formulated or packaged to go. They evolve over time and reflect careful choices that bring creativity and harmony into every area of a home. They tell us something about the people who live in them, and elicit a sense of tranquility, comfort and well being without sacrificing practicality.
